June 2, 2022: A Connecticut court applied CT’s Slow Down. Move Over. Law, in the death of CT tow operator Corey Iodice, for the first time since it was enacted in 2009.
After this historic sentencing, Cindy Iodice, founder of Flagman, held a press conference with CT Senator Richard Blumenthal and key Flagman advocates (AAA, MADD, HAAS Alert, DOT) to push for stronger SDMO laws and public education.

Dean Robert, 48 of Weston was sentenced at Bridgeport Superior Court for hitting and killing Corey Iodice, 58 of Florida on the Merritt Parkway in 2020.
BRIDGEPORT — A Weston man was sentenced Thursday to four and a half years in prison for driving drunk and killing a tow truck operator who was loading a disabled car onto a flatbed on the Merritt Parkway two years ago.
Police said the Weston man struck and killed a tow truck driver assisting a motorist whose vehicle had broken down on the Merritt Parkway.
